WHAT YOU CAN DO TO FIGHT BACK

The speed with which our government is being overrun by an unelected group of malicious actors is breathtaking. As Yale historian Timothy Snyder writes, “Of course it’s a coup.

“The ongoing actions by Musk and his followers are a coup because the individuals seizing power have no right to it. Elon Musk was elected to no office and there is no office that would give him the authority to do what he is doing. It is all illegal. It is also a coup in its intended effects: to undo democratic practice and violate human rights.”

Part of their plan is to overwhelm our ability to process these power grabs, keeping our focus jumping like a drop of water on a hot skillet.

Seeing it for what it is allows us to take measures to counteract the damage. We will be posting updates on concrete actions that you can take as they arise. One of the best sources for inspiration is the grassroots movement, Indivisible. Here are some steps you can take right now to fight back.

If you have a Democratic senator, make their life hell until they fight back. Demand that they block every Trump nominee. Demand they shut down the Senate until this crisis is addressed. Demand they use every parliamentary tool available to obstruct Trump’s agenda.

Get in the streets and into their offices. Nothing rattles a senator like dozens of constituents physically showing up at their office demanding action. That is what we need this week.

If you have a Republican senator, hammer them on Russell Vought’s confirmation. We need four votes to flip. And behind closed doors, we know Republicans are shaking in their boots about Project 2025. They should either vote against him—or suffer the political fallout.
